Description Sunrize TVP Savoury Mince - Textured vegetable protein (TVP) is a fibrous, dehydrated meat alternative that is usually made by a process that isolates the proteins from soya flour. TVP is a good source of fibre and a high quality protein.
The Sunrize Fact-ory The soya bean is associated with mystical qualities. In Chinese civilization, soya was actually deemed one of the holy crops along with rice, wheat, barley and millet - all of which are grains, except the soya bean.
Usage Use in place of meat for casseroles, stews, soups, stir frys,vegetarian burgers, chilli, and sausage. USING TEXTURED VEGETABLE PROTEIN *Use only 1 - 2 tablespoons per serving *No need to pre-soak *No need for long cooking, simply stir into your basic sauce and heat through. Basic Sauce 1.Finely chop 1 small onion, 1 stick celery, 1 carrot and 1 clove of garlic. Fry over gentle heat for a few minutes. 2. Add a tin of tomatoes, herbs and seasoning of your choice. Cook for about 10 minutes then stir in TVP. For a different texture add some cooked aduki beans or brown lentils when adding the tomatoes at stage 2. Add chopped mushrooms at stage 1. Use vegetable stock instead of tomatoes. Add soy sauce or marmite for a 'beefier' flavour.

Storage Requirements Store in a cool dry place and once opened keep in an airtight container.
On the Label Our TVP mince is from defatted soya beans. It is a fantastic alternative to meat and can even be used to make minced meat go further. Directions for use: Simply place the mince into your sauce and cook until tender. Make sure you have plenty of liquid for the mince to absorb.
