Description Sunrize Red Kidney Beans - Thse are Red Kidney shaped beans and are especially good in slow cooking recipes as they absorb the flavours of seasonings and other foods with which they are cooked. Kidney beans also hold their shape well and are high in fibre, iron, Vitamin B and protein.
Usage Great for chilli dishes, salads, soups, casseroles and taco's. To cook: Soak overnight in clean cold water. Drain the next morning and replace water to cover beans by 5cm. Fast boil for 10 mins. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 45 mins or until tender. Drain and save cooking water as this contains B Vitamins and can be used in recipes requiring liquid. NOTE: Red Kidney Beans contain toxins under their skins. This is renedered harmless if you fast boil them for 10 mins as mentioned above.

Storage Requirements Store in a cool dry place and once opened keep in an airtight container
On the Label Red kidney beans are delicious either on their own, or in recipes, such as Mexican chilli con carne.
Directions for use: Soak the beans overnight in cold water. After soaking, replace water and bring to a rapid boil in a large pan, for 10 minutes before simmering for approx 45mins or until soft. At this point, they can be frozen in batches with some of the cooking water, or used straight away.
