Description Sunrize Chana Dall - A staple of the Indian diet and resembles a yellow split pea. It is also called Cholar Dall or Bengal Gram Dall. It has a mild sweet flavour and is very versatile. It is robust and does not get mushy. It is an excellent source of Iron and Fibre and an excellent source of Folate. Their high qaulity protein content makes them a great stand in for meat. It is also a great food for hypoglycaemic and diabetic people because of its gentle effect in raising blood sugar levels.

Usage Great for Indian dishes, soups, stewed, Pilaf or makes a great Chana Dall Guacamole. Take a normal Guacamole recipe and use equal parts Chana Dall and pureed Avocado and continue with recipe. Great addition to sweeter veg eg Dall and greens, dall and carrots, dall and courgettes and squashes. Careful washing and rinsing is a must to remove dust etc. 8oz of Chana Dall to about 1.5 pints water (1 part dahl to 3.5 parts water) Bring to the boil and simmer for 30 minutes.

Directions for use: Wash and sort before use. Place in a large pan with water, bring to the boil and simmer for approx 30-45 minutes or until soft.At this point they can be frozen in batches with some of the cooking water or used immediately with your recipe.
